Kapatagan Digos City, Davao del Sur Adventure

It was the first time I set foot to Davao. After work on June 8, 2013 I never get some sleep and went directly to the airport because my flight was 4:55AM. Fortunately, the flight was not delayed because normally Cebu Pacific is often delayed. I slept throughout the flight and we arrived at Davao International Airport at 7:15AM. From there I took FX going to Ecoland and the driver asked me 250.00 pesos. The driver was very helpful and kind enough, he kept on talking to entertain me. From Ecoland Bus Station I took a Bus going to Digos City, the fair was 65.00 pesos including a bottle of water and I was so fascinated because the people are so friendly and helpful. From Digos City I took a trycycle going to Kapatagan Terminal, the fair was 8:00 pesos. From there I've ridden a motorcycle going to Kapatagan, the driver asked me 100.00 pesos. It was an experience that I will  never forget. It took me more than 2 hours ride with a long winding rough rugged road, some are under repair, alternately with aspalt and some shallow cemented areas. At last I arrived at I think 10:30 AM, and my friend Riza was already there to fetch when I arrived. I thought my journey is over but to my surprise we have to ride another motorcycle AGAIN going to their place and it took us more than 30 minutes to a long and winding rough rugged road, sometimes no road at all just a plain soil going to Barangay Marawer.

Eventhough my butt was already painful plus my backpack was quite heavy, Still I enjoyed the beautiful scenery, the magical landscapes and the enchanting atmossphere. At last, It's exhilarating breathing again a pure and fresh air away from the polluted air of Manila.

Taaaadannnnnn .... Here we go.....! :)

My friend place is close proximity to Mount Apo.
My friends and their tomatoes plantation. Yes, The primary livelihood of people's here is vegetable cultivation, coffee farming, banana plantation and tourism.

We found this bird nest! Adorable, isn't it? :) A delightful sight to see and a cool experience.
These are wild strawberry I found these near the bird nest. It has an unexplainable taste. When I tasted it, it taste a little sour, little sweet and bitter. Ughhh!
My 19y/o friend Riza & I.

Durian Tree. Finally I'm human because I have eaten durian and saw the tree. :D
Woodland Resort, the water here is from deep well, this is one of popular destinations in Kapatagan.
@Camp Sabros an adventure camp and a mountain resort, we dared the 400 meters zip lines called "Slide for Life" at 180 feet above the ground. Below the zip lines are the striking luxuriant greenery tall pine trees.
Cute & humble home, mostly the houses are like this there in Marawer Kapatagan but people are happy, kind hearted and generous.
A flower look like a Christmas tree.
Ok, EMO time. I was just soooo tired after a very long walk that took us 45 minutes.

Carrots plantation.
Going to Riza's cousin and gesshhh I have to crawl because there's no other way.
Rachel and Maricel, the sisters of Riza and they are very considerate waiting for me.
Wow, Perfect shot courtesy of Maricel. This is a Carabao the national animal of the Philippines.
Ok! Using the nature as my photo prop. :) Sorry wild flower, I didn't mean to disrespect you.

Cagsawa Ruins In Legaspi City

The last time I was here in Cagsawa was during our field trip when I was in High School that was way back 1994. :)  The Cagsawa Ruins is one of the most famous attraction in Bicol because it stood as a symbol of Bicolandia.

What Makes Cagsawa Ruins More Popular?

Cagsawa is very rich in history, according to local historical account Cagsawa was a town during the Spanish era. The Cagsawa Ruins are the remnants of the former town and of an 18th century Franciscan church built in 1724 that was buried by the 1814 eruption of (Daragang Magayon - means beautiful lady to the locals) aka Mayon Volcano.

Together with My Best Friend Caren! We are both healthy. :D
hmmm, warang kupas si manay :P
hmmmm, are you jumping or what? :D
naks naman!

How to Get to Cagsawa Ruins!

If you are from Sorsogon:

1. Board the Bus Queens or Don Don Liner with "Legazpi"  sign and pay 80 pesos sometimes the driver won't give you a ticket and they will only ask 60 pesos. From the downtown of Legaspi take a jeepney with the sign board going to the third district (Camalig, Guinobatan, Ligao, Libon, Polangui, Oas) and ask the driver to drop you off at the junction of the highway going to Cagsawa. Don't forget to remind the driver because sometimes they forgot. Look for the Cagsawa signage at the right side of the road or you can ask the locals.

2. You can go to Van Terminal in Sorsogon going to Daraga. From Daraga, you can take jeepneys going to Legaspi City and once there, pay the driver 8 pesos. (please see the no. 1 for details.)

If you are from Naga:

1. Get a  tricycle or single motorcycle in the downtown of Naga City and Instruct the driver to take you to CBT. CBT is along CBD II Road and next to SM City Naga. Once there, pay the driver 8 pesos and then go to CBT.

2. Proceed to Lane 33 and wait for an airconditioned bus or Van with "Legazpi" sign. Board the bus pay 110 pesos and ask the conductor (if you are in an airconditioned bus) or the driver if you are riding the Van to drop you off at Cagsawa Ruins.

First Visit @ Lignon Hill, Legazpi City, Albay

I'm a bicolana but it's a shame that this is the first time I have visited the Lignon Hill in Legazpi City, Albay. Last summer, my friends asked me if we can have a vacation in Bicol at the same time to promote our Kangen Water machine business (water ionizer). So, it’s a double purpose. We stayed there for five days and on the 3rd day we went to visit the most famous landmark of Legaspi, the Lignon Hills. As we are heading the entrance, I’ve noticed the big photo of Hollywood actor Zac Efron. Before entering the hill we paid 20.00 pesos entrance fee each because we don’t have an ID as a proof that we are the residents of Albay.

While we are ascending the hill, I've seen many couples walking/jogging (fitness purposes), some are like us who just went there for sightseeing and others are adventurers. It’s not easy to trek the long and steep winding road of the hill.

We have the opportunity to watch the beautiful and magnificent sunset, and the breath taking grandeur of Mayon Volcano. It was so refreshing when we reach the top. The breeze from the ocean was cool and we enjoyed the sparkling light of the city below the hill.

Romance in Ireland: Top 5 V-Day Activities

With the open spaces and plenty of city attractions, Ireland is a perfect choice for a Valentines break. There are ample activities and attractions to keep the lovebirds busy.

Fly below the Cliffs of Moher

Starting on the west coast, opt for an affordable hotel room at the local Travelodge in Galway and venture out to the Cliffs of Moher. Enjoy a romantic helicopter ride around the cliffs, for a truly unforgettable experience, while also giving you a perfect setup for a trip to the Aran Islands.

Visit the Giant’s Causeway

If you’re planning on visiting Northern Ireland, be sure to check in on the Giant’s Causeway. It’s not just an impressive geological feature; Irish folklore suggests that Finn MacCool built the causeway to use as stepping stones to Scotland, to reach his lover, a Scottish giantess. How romantic!

The Home of St Valentine

With the help of Travelodge's Central Dublin hotel, you’ll be in the heart of the city and aptly placed for a Valentine’s Day to remember, with a whole host of attractions to enjoy.
Although many cynics believe that the relics were confused with those of a lesser known Saint Valentine, many others believe that the stories are true. Apparently, in the 19th century, Pope Gregory XVI gave St Valentine’s relics to the Carmelite Church in Whitefriar Street, to try and encourage Catholicism – what better place to explore on the day of love?

St Patrick’s Cathedral

Gulliver’s Travels writer, Jonathan Swift, and his beloved Stella, are buried here in the National Cathedral of Ireland. Having written much of his prose for his true love, discovering his resting place could make an, albeit a little morbid, visit on the Feast of Saint Valentine.

Take a Stroll along the South Wall

There’s nothing more romantic than a leisurely stroll with your loved one, taking in the fresh air and enjoying your surroundings. Step out into Dublin Bay and wander along the South Wall. At the end you will find Poolbeg Lighthouse and some truly awe inspiring sights of the Wicklow Mountains, Dublin Bay and the Hill of Howth; an even better experience if you’re the only ones there.

Enjoy what Ireland has to offer, with its breathtaking landscapes, intimate restaurants and romantic walks; it makes a perfect break for Valentine’s Day.

Head for the Waters: Top Watersports Resorts

If you’re planning to head for the water in 2013, summer is the time to do it. Whether you choose a beach club as your base or you opt instead for a lakeside retreat, such as one of the Italian lakes holidays on offer, you’ll be sure to be at the heart of the action.

Watersports holidays are an extremely popular choice for many outdoors enthusiasts. Where you choose depends on what sports you are interested in, but as long as you have sun, water and thrills, you can’t really go far wrong.

Lake Garda

Far from being a beach club retreat, Lake Garda in the north of Italy is incredibly popular with thrillseekers. The northern town of Torbole is a central hub for watersports fans, and the excellent wind conditions provide an idyllic opportunity for windsurfers and kitesurfers. Kayaking and sailing are equally popular in the area, and as the largest lake in Italy, there’s ample space.

Adakoy

As the base for yachts and sailing trips and also providing perfect conditions for watersports including kayaking, windsurfing and snorkelling, Adakoy in Turkey is an absolute must see. Whether it’s the crystal clear waters or the golden sands that entice you, you can’t go far wrong with Turkish beach clubs, and Adakoy is one of the best.

Sivota

A perfect base for a day sail excursion, giving you the option to relax on deck or explore the local surroundings. Cool off in the azure waters, where you can swim or snorkel, or head for one of the sheltered bays to sign up for a watersport experience, such as waterskiing, wakeboarding or dinghy sailing.
Whether it’s a lake or an ocean that appeals for your 2013 sojourn, start planning your vacation online now and take advantage of any savings to be had.
